Following the constant effort and several endeavors, the University of Zakho has been included within the SCImago Institution Rankings. According to the recent SCImago reports, the University of Zakho has achieved the rank of ‘7’ at the level of Kurdistan Region universities, the rank of ‘17’ at the level of Iraq universities and the rank of ‘735’ at the level of global universities.

Noteworthy, the current rankings are based on the availability of three (3) factors on the Internet, namely: Researching, Creativity and Novel Ideas, and Social Relations. Accordingly, the University of Zakho has attained the position of ‘326’ for Researching, ‘443’ for creativity and ‘249’ for social relations.

SCImago Institution Rankings was founded in 2009 in Spain. It concentrates on certain factors and emphasizes the government, health, higher education, private sectors, etc. For each, it measures areas such as: research output, international collaboration, normalized impact and publication rate.
